ECOWAS President Ambassador Kadre Desire Quedraogo
Kader Desire Quedraogo was born in Bousso in Burkina Faso.
After completing his basic education in Burkina Faso he continued his studies in Paris
where he graduated in 1977 in International affairs at the HEC Paris.
He continues to study in Paris at the famous Sorbonne University where he obtains a Bachelors Degree in Economic Sciences. The President is a trilingual speaker of French, English and Spanish.
In 1977 he started his professional career as Counselor for Economic Affairs, at the Ministry of Trade and Industrial Development. He was appointed Executive Officer in the Financial Department of FOSIDEC in 1980. After working a brief period as the Financial Advisor to the Secretary General of the West African Community of ECOWAS he became 1985 the Deputy Executive Secretary of ECOWAS in charge of Economic Affairs and in 1993 the Deputy Governor of Central Bank of the West African States in Dakar.
He served is country, Bukina Faso as Prime Minister, Head of the Government of Burkina Faso from 1996 -2000.After retiring from office he was appointed as extraordinary Ambassador of Burkina Faso to Belgium, The Netherlands, Ireland and The United Kingdom and Permanent Representative of Burkina Faso to the European Union (EU).
